Favorite Thing: Tile Mate

Hi there!  My friend surprised me with the sweetest, most thoughtful gift for my birthday.  She remembered that I had told her about the time that I was coaching my five year old's soccer team (that's another story, they were desperate for ANYONE to coach) and almost missed a whole game because I couldn't find my keys.  I just remembered that I blogged about that day  (my post was labeled Lessons Learned From a Frazzled Soccer Coach ). So, yesterday my friend brought me the most life changing gift. A  Tile Mate . It's a key finder.  A phone finder.  Or an anything finder.  But for me it's life changing.   I am constantly losing my keys and my phone, but I think those days are over. All you have to do is download the TILE app on your phone and sync it to your tile.  You can put your tile on anything that you want to find.  I put it on my keys.   If you lose your keys you open the app on your phone and i...

9 of My Family's Favorite Games, Toys and Kitchen Things {Gift Ideas!}

I want to share 3 of my favorite toys, games and kitchen things with you.  (These include Amazon affiliate links, but honestly, I buy almost everything from Amazon.  Feel free to shop around.) Top 3 Favorite Toys: Rescue Bots:  These are Transformers for little kids (and a show on Netflix).  My boys love these, from ages 2 to 9.  They're easy to transform and don't have crazy little parts to break off.  We love Blades , Chase , Heat Wave , Boulder , Optimus Prime , and Bumblebee .  Zoobs :  We got these for a gift a few years ago and my kids love them.  Most of the time, my boys end up making them look like some kind of weapon. Skilz Mini Hoop :  We have one of these hanging on our wall in our living room.  Classy, I know.  ( I even blogged about it .)   It is meant to hang over a door, but my father-in-law built a simple frame for it and now we can attach it to the wall.  Super sturdy and had tons of pla...

A Peek into My House and Basketball Room

Hi guys!  I wanted to give you a peek into my living room today because I wanted to show your our most used "toy" in our home. That's right.  We have a basketball hoop in our living room.  Or I guess it's not really a living room any more, because it's kind of like a gym.    Our house in New Mexico was much smaller than our new home in Washington, so we don't have living room furniture.  My son looked at the tall ceilings and decided that the basketball hoop should go into the living room (not in the awesome basement because the ceilings aren't as high). We've had this basketball hoop in our living room for the last four years (above the doorway to the kitchen in our last house). Anyway....I just noticed today on slickdeals.net that that this hoop is on sale on Amazon just today for half off.  Such a good deal!  $14.99 .  You can buy it on SKLZ.com for $29.99 regularly.  It's a great hoop and has a really strong rim. ...

Favorite Thing: EZ Squeezes Refillable Pouches

Hi friends!  I have a new favorite thing that I wanted to share with you.  The best $9.99 that I've spent in a while. My baby loves to eat (or rather suck on) baby food pouches.  However, they're a little pricey, but it's the only way that my baby will eat baby food.  He won't eat it on a spoon.  My local grocery store was out of my favorite cheap brand for almost a month and I was sad.  Then I saw these refillable pouches online and bought them. They are a hit with all my kids!  My four year old took one filled with homemade applesauce  to preschool for his snack.  My second grader took a pouch filled with yogurt to school in his lunchbox.    My baby has enjoyed applesauce, pureed bottled peaches, yogurt, baby food from a jar, and some oatmeal in his pouch and we've only had them for two days.  I'm excited to find more things to put in the pouch.  My 9 year old that doesn't like applesauce o...

Random Favorites

It's time for me to share with you some of my favorite things lately... These chocolate pudding cookies that my kids helped me make the other day.  They keep staring at me, daring me to eat them.  And I have been eating them because they are so good.   Peaches have been on sale for the last two weeks at Sprout's for as low as $0.49/lb, so I've bought about 60 lbs and have been canning them.  Wish I would have bought more.  I'm thinking peach pie , peach crisp , fruit leather, etc.  Now that Google Reader is gone, I'm using Feedly to check up on my favorite blogs.  I've been using it for several months and like it.  The only thing that I don't like about it is when it opens up a webpage and then freezes and closes.  Hopefully they'll get the bugs worked out and it will be fixed.  Have you used Bloglovin?  I tried it, but liked Feedly better.   I just bought these pacifiers for my baby who is now 6 m...

Some Random Favorites

Here are a few of my favorite things this week... BOOKS These Bear books by Bonny Becker.  I love them!  The illustrations are great and the stories are so cute.  I think I need to buy them for my boys.   Goodnight Goodnight Construction Site -- my three year old loves this book!  I've read it over and over for months and am not sick of it yet.    SHOPPING   I live an hour away from any shopping, so I've been doing a lot of shopping online lately (especially since my baby was born).  Even when I do go to Target I forget to buy half of the stuff that I needed.  I use my Target REDcar d all the time to get 5% off and free shipping on everything.   I've developed a new love for Kohl's too.  I've been doing some online shopping in the wee-hours of the night while I nurse my little guy.  I've gotten some great deals with Kohls coupon codes!  I have a Kohls card and used these amazing coupon codes: 3...
