Chocolate Crinkles

Oh my goodness.  These chocolate crinkles are my new favorite cookies.
They are like little brownie cookies.  And they're fun and easy to make.  My nine year old daughter made the dough.  Then all of my kids helped roll the dough balls in powdered sugar.

They're irrestible, even to a cute little almost one year old!

I let him enjoy his cookie.  Aren't I a nice mom?  Ha!

Ingredients
  • 3/4 c. vegetable oil
  • 3/4 c. cocoa powder
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 2 c. flour
  • powdered sugar, for rolling
Directions
  1. Cream together oil, cocoa powder and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla. Gradually mix in baking powder, salt and flour.  Don't add more flour.  The dough will be spoonable after it's chilled.
  2. Refrigerate dough until chilled through. Take small spoonfuls of dough and form into balls. Roll in powdered sugar.
  3. Place on an ungreased cookie sheet and bake at 350 degrees for 11 minutes.
Yield:  about 4 dozen cookies

  1. Oh my cuteness; your little guy is adorable! And those cookies look gooood. They look like the more cake-y type of cookie which is the only kind I can successfully make. I might have to try these! Thanks!!

  2. We tried them and they passed the test to share with the neighbors (along with your crockpot hot chocolate recipe -- it's a very whatisonyourmenu Christmas this year!). My six-year-old just reported that this is his favorite cookie! Merry Christmas and thanks for sharing!
