Week 254 Menu (Thanksgiving Week)

Hi friends!  Wow, I just looked at my calendar and December is already filling up fast!  I'm looking forward to this week, so we can relax and enjoy being at home.

My husband took my 7 year old son to Notre Dame to watch them beat our BYU Cougars on Saturday.  They were gone for four days and got home late last night.  I can't wait until they get home from work and school today to hear more about their weekend.

I didn't cook much over the weekend.  It was a nice break!  Back to menu planning this week...

Monday:
taco soup (in crockpot)

Tuesday:
sloppy joes
oven fries
veggies

Wednesday:
pizza

Thursday:
Thanksgiving!
my favorite turkey
mashed potatoes and gravy
stuffing
roasted acorn squash
green beans
green salad
jello salad (maybe this mandarin orange jello salad)
my favorite crescent rolls
dessert is still TBD: probably lemon cream pie, banana cream pie, carrot pudding, peach pie

Friday:
turkey noodle soup (after we go cut down a Christmas tree... if the weather cooperates)

Saturday:
leftovers

Sunday:
we're feeding the missionaries

crockpot chicken tacos with all the fixings

What's on your menu this week?  I'd love to hear what you're making for Thanksgiving.

Have a great week!

  1. I hear you about December!! So so busy already. This week is nice and laid back at least. My kids have the whole week off, and it's too cold to do anything but stay home and veg.

    M: chicken enchiladas, refried beans

    T: baked potato soup

W: pasta e fagioli soup, breadsticks, and chicken alfredo pasta bake (sister missionaries are coming for dinner)

Th: turkey, ham, Stove-top stuffing, rolls, (I'm going to try some Hawaiian rolls this year in addition to my stand-by dinner rolls), green bean casserole, jello, Oreo pie, maybe a pumpkin pie (I am the only one who likes it?!!), sweet potato SOMETHING (need to figure out how I should cook some sweet potatoes; my kids promised to try it this year. They would probably like a dessert-like version but I don't care for marshmallowed sweet potatoes!) And cranberry punch (my nod to cranberries since I don't care for sauce).

    F: leftovers

    Sa: pizza, maybe?

    Su: more leftovers, probably!

    Happy Thanksgiving to you!

  2. I went to the store and bought all my Thanksgiving stuff but I didn't really give too much thought to the rest of the week :) So I'm kind of winging it but here's my menu!

    M: Poppyseed Chicken, green beans
T: Taco Bowls w/ Ground turkey
    W: Pizza
Th: Thanksgiving! Rosemary Lemon Turkey, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, apple cinnamon stuffing, green bean casserole, rolls, deviled eggs, cranberry sauce, company corn, honey carrots, lime slush drink, and pie :) I think I have it narrowed down to pumpkin, chocolate cream and coconut cream...oh and maybe dutch apple! haha!
    F: Leftovers
    S: Turkey Pot Pie
Su: We'll cross that bridge when we come to it :)
