We had a birthday at our house this week. My little guy turned 4! He's been waiting for his birthday for months.
He loves legos and wanted to have a lego cake.
Every time I make a cake, I'm glad that I know some tricks to get the cake out of the pan. Works pretty much every time.
Looking for other cake ideas? Here are a few of the cakes that I've made over the last several years.
"1" Year Old Cake
"8" Shaped Cake
Airplane Cake
Baseball Glove Cake
Baseball Team "Storm" Cake
Basketball Jersey Cake
Football Birthday Cake Idea
Train Cake
Happy birthday to my 4 year old! I get a break from birthday cake making for 5 more months until my baby turns one.
Have a great weekend!
I am not a perfectionist or a very great frosting maker, but I try to make fun birthday cakes for my kids for their birthdays.
I googled "lego cake" and found this idea from Betty Crocker. It was super simple. It's just a cake baked in a 9x13 pan. You cut the cake into thirds and then cut one of the thirds in half to make the different lego pieces. Then you cut marshmallows in half and frost them to make them look like legos.
Next time I make a lego cake, I'll cut the rounded edges off of the cake pieces. And I'll make sure that I have enough marshmallows for the top. It's not perfect, but my kids thought it was great. Every time I make a cake, I'm glad that I know some tricks to get the cake out of the pan. Works pretty much every time.
