Happy Pi(e) Day!

Today is March 14, so that means that it is Pi Day!
 
Can you tell that I live in a very scientific town?  This "holiday" is celebrated here.

I made banana cream pie for my family on Sunday, so I might make a chicken pot pie for dinner tonight.

My favorite part of making pie is making what I call pie crust cookies. You've all probably sprinkled cinnamon and sugar on top of the leftover pie crust dough and then baked them.  Yum! 













I don't have many blog posts about pie on my blog.  Only this one, very festive, 4th of July apple pie.

I love to attempt to copy my mother in law's fabulous peach pie.  The pie is really only the same if Io use my mother-in-law's yummy bottled peaches.  I also make banana cream and lemon cream pies using the recipes from the 11th edition of the Better Homes and Gardens cookbook.  My favorite pie crust is from Good Life Eats -- all butter pie crust.  Yum!
