I have the easiest recipe for maple syrup. My mom always made it growing up. I think in the 8+ years that I've been married, I've bought syrup maybe once or twice. It's so fast and easy. You can make it in the time that it takes to whip up pancakes or french toast.
Maple Syrup
(this is a small recipe, makes probably 3 cups or so -- it's just enough to fit in my syrup container)
Mix in a sauce pan:
2 c. white sugar
1/4 c. brown sugar
1 1/4 c. water
Bring to a boil. Then reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes. Remove from heat.
Add: 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. maple flavoring (I use Mapleine)
Serve warm. Store syrup in fridge.
Now time for my menu this week:
Monday: chicken tetrazinni
Tuesday: all-day salsa chicken
Wednesday: Christmas party
Thursday: pizza
Friday: bistro chicken w/mashed potatoes
Saturday: easy night
Sunday: beef stew
All right, there is my menu. Now feel free to share yours. Have a good week!
