Crockpot Hot Chocolate

Since it snowed at my house this week, I thought I'd post a yummy hot chocolate recipe. It's fun to make and a nice change from my big can of Swiss Miss that I keep in my pantry.

Crockpot Hot Chocolate

  • 1/3 c. cocoa
  • 5 1/2 c. fat-free milk
  • 1 Tbsp. vanilla
  • 1 (14 oz) can fat-free sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 (3") cinnamon stick (optional)
  1. Place cocoa in a 3 quart electric slow cooker. Gradually add 1 c. fat free milk, stirring with a whisk until well blended. Add remaining fat-free milk, vanilla, and sweetened condensed milk, stirring with a whisk until well blended. Add cinnamon stick, if desired.
  2. Cover with lid; cook on low-heat setting 4 - 8 hours. Discard cinnamon stick.
  3. Stir well with a whisk before serving. Ladle hot chocolate into mugs; top with marshmallows. Makes 10 servings (3/4 cups each).
I haven't ever added the cinnamon stick, but I'm sure it would be good with it. I turned my crockpot on high for a few hours instead of warming it on low.

  1. I am hosting an important recipe club at my house for Dec. and as the host you make at least 4 recipes to share and taste. I've been looking for a semi healthy, easy and YUMMY one to share. Im going to share this one. THANKS

  2. Totally pulling this recipe out today. It has warmed up to a balmy 7ºF (it was 2º when I dropped my kids off at school!) A big crockpot of hot chocolate waiting for them when they get home with Dad is a necessity today!
