Peach (or Apple) Crisp

This recipe was originally for apple crisp, but I like using peaches instead. You can do either one. Sometimes I make more of the crisp part, since that's my favorite part. Use as much fruit as you want and as much crisp as you want. Either way it's delicious!

2 or more peaches (or apples)
1/2 T. flour
1/3 c. sugar (more or less depending on how much fruit you are using)
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/8 tsp. nutmeg

Slice fruit. Sprinkle with sugar, flour, cinnamon and nutmeg. Stir until coated. Pour into baking dish. Cover with 1/4 c. water.

Combine and crumble over fruit:
1/2 c. quick oats
1/2 c. flour
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/8 tsp. baking powder
1/8 tsp. baking soda
1/4 c. melted butter

Bake in a 325 degree oven for 45 minutes (or less if making a smaller amount). Best served warm with vanilla ice cream.

*Sometimes we feel indulgent and double the crumb mixture.  Yum!

  1. I'm having a hard time saying goodbye to summer, I have a feeling if I make this I'll be a little happier about fall. Thanks for sharing this recipe. One of my friends from our ward here told me that she LOVES your food blog. She told me that everytime she makes one of your recipes her hubby make sure she repeats it! Anyway she is as well as I am REALLY glad you do this!
