Giveaway Winner and Favorite Recipes from 400 Calories or Less with Our Best Bites

Good morning!  I used Random.org to generate a winning comment on my giveaway post.  And the winning comment was written by  Katy P !  Katy, I sent you an email.   Thanks to everyone that participated and left nice comments!  I wish could give you all ramekins AND a cookbook!  If I haven't heard from the winner in 48 hours, a new winner will be chosen. Katy chose the cookbook for her giveaway prize.  I wanted to share with you what some of my favorite recipes are from the 400 Calories or Less with Our Best Bites  cookbook.   I have tried and loved Grilled Pico Steak, Slow Cooker Pot Roast, Steak & Green Bean Stirfry, Portobello Burger, and Sausage, Potato & Kale Soup.  There are lots of recipes that I still want to try.   I don't have a ton of cookbooks, because most of the recipes that I love are online, but this one is worth buying.   If you have this cookbook already, what are you favorites? ...

Artisan Bread in Five Minutes a Day

While I was in Utah over Christmas break, I ate some bread that my sister made.  It was delicious and a little different than most bread that I make.  I asked her where she got the recipe and she said she got it from the cookbook, Artisan Bread in Five Minutes a Day . I picked a copy of the book up at my library this week and set out to make my own artisan bread tonight.  I love it because you mix up some dough and leave it in your fridge.  Then whenever you want bread you grab a piece of dough, let it set for 40 minutes, then back it.  Super easy!  My hubby complains sometimes that we're always out of bread.  So this solves my problem. This is how my bread turned out (a little crunchy), but it was perfect dipped in the soup we had for dinner. I think I'll buy myself a copy of the book.  I'm excited to try the recipes for pizza dough, flat bread and pita bread.  Can you tell I love bread?

Christmas Surprises

I was given several wonderful gifts this year that are for the kitchen.  I love all of them and wanted to share with you what I was so generously given. My little sister gave me this fabulous cookbook.  I'm so excited to read it. My sister-in-law bought me this covered dutch oven .  She gave it to me after Thanksgiving and I couldn't wait to use it.  So instead of wrapping it up and sticking under the tree, I opened it up and started using it.  I love it. My hubby and kids bought me this Giada food processor from Target .  (Okay, so I really picked it out and put it in the cart, but that doesn't matter).  I know it's not the fanciest or most expensive, but I had a coupon, plus it was on sale, so I got a great deal.  And it's a lot better than the mini food processor that I've been using that I got for my wedding 9.5 years ago with a lid that's taped together in three places.  I'm excited to start processing in it. :) Did you get anythin...
